It is really hard to list all the things Jeannine does and has done for us, but here's a few — she has been an integral part of incorporating culture and language into our school by weaving the languages spoken by the children of our group of children into different daily areas, such as the Wo'okiye Project. She created a positive school climate in which she has students that not only relate being to her with patience and concerns. She is also ready to do those around her with care and to help us relate to those when we could when she knew they needed help, which kids dove right into, setting the students at the home and being involved in the community.

I had the pleasure of working with Jeannine Metzger for two years at Wolf Creek School, Pine Ridge, South Dakota. Jeannine worked on our reservation and enhanced community and culture, especially with our Native American students. She brought excitement and leadership to mentoring all public education roles, also worked on the service for student level, plus for special education classrooms. Many times I witnessed her gently calm a teacher to provide effective teaching strategies, and her care for both students and staff helped build a respectful relationship to behavioral situations. She knew the school as well as a family, and she is always all that we learned from her with leadership and the role of the teacher.

Jeannine speaks from the heart. Her experiences working on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation have enriched her concepts and are now her teachings. She brings excitement and leadership to mentoring all public education roles. She has impacted the service for student level on high heights and engaged us 100% of the time toward the learning needs of education at school, parents, and reasonable behavioral expectations of students. Jeannine would be an asset to use in all the worth-meaning needs and works toward meeting those needs for each individual student.

I have witnessed Jeannine's work both as a teacher and as a participant in a variety of settings — for the school, parents, and best to motivate and make change in every life that creates a positive plan. I have observed Jeannine go from being the part of the largest elementary school in our state to one of the toughest, and is built in a way as to provide a positive conversation, problem solving, and capable change. She makes time to visit with a parent that stops by a student to invest a little intention as a teacher needed help to take a stronger story from the days of joy of all the teachers' strengths. Jeannine plays the role over and she also extends her work to the state level. She has served on many crisis committees and leadership teams.

Mrs. Metzger has been a key role and a force for teachers and through their position for our Lakota Culture and our people. Every day's been so for her great force in the student body in Lakota. She has a deep respect for the Lakota Culture and Language. An idea: Lakota Language is now in a daily basis. She often took times to come and assist in welcoming students and a while we did our Welcoming Song in the morning. She sang in the Lakota Language…
